Official Opening PAYER Malaysia

On February 7, 2023, PAYER Group officially opened its new Malaysian site in Sungai Petani, Kedah – PAYER Industries Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

The opening ceremony of the factory was officiated by YB Dato’ Wira Dr. Ku Abd Rahman Ku Ismail, Executive Committee member of Kedah and the Industry and Investment Committee Chairman, witnessed by His Excellency Andreas Launer, Austrian Ambassador to Malaysia, Mr. Shing Leong Hui, Chairman of PAYER Group, and Mr. Michael Viet, CEO of PAYER Group.

“I am very pleased that we now officially open our newest location of the PAYER Group together in a ceremonial setting. The expansion of our global setup is a strategically important step for the diversification of our supply chain in Asian. I would like to thank all employees whose commitment helped us to achieve all steps in time”, emphasized Michael Viet, CEO PAYER Group, in his opening speech.

YB Dato’ Wira Dr. Ku Abd Rahman Ku Ismail said while opening the ceremony “PAYER Group’s investment in the State of Kedah reflects the confidence of foreign investors in the stability of the ecosystem that supports investments in the state”. PAYER Industries Malaysia is one of three foreign investment companies from Austria which invested in the State of Kedah in 2021.

The production site was built on land measuring 8,498 square meters in the Bakar Arang industrial area. A total of around 250 jobs will be created for the state’s residents.

The headquarters of the PAYER Group is located in St. Bartholomä. In recent years, PAYER’s Technology and Innovation Center has increasingly specialized in the manufacturing of products for medical technology – in the fields of surgery, respiration and diagnostics. Special disposables, microfluidic products as well as smaller assemblies are focused on.

In addition to the headquarters, production is taking place at sites in Hungary, China and Malaysia. Thus, with more than 1,100 employees, the company develops and produces under the highest quality standards and with its own production facilities. This enables PAYER to solve customer challenges and implement requirements as well as to take up visionary ideas and develop innovative product solutions – from the idea to series production.
